Sheriff: They wonder if she was going to quilt it or just
knot it!
This spot is such a turning point in the plot of the
play. You see here a line drawn pitting
the women against the men. The Sheriff
unwittingly highlights how the men did not view the women as silly and
unimportant. This is the point where the
women bond together in solidarity and this eventually includes Minnie Wright.
